Hua Hin

South East Asia > West Thailand > Prachuap Khiri Khan

Big Image

Located on the sunrise side of the Gulf of Thailand. Hua Hin lies some 200 kilometres or a three-hour drive southwest of Bangkok. Adding distinction to Hua Hin’s coastal setting, is its status as Thailand's most traditional beach resort.
It was here, in the 1920s, that King Rama VII built a summer palace, thus creating a vogue among high society for Hua Hin to become the favourite retreat from Bangkok's summer heat. Today, the present Royal Family continues to reside at Hua Hin for part of the year.
Hua Hin is similarly noted for its magnificent beach, running from a rocky headland, which separates it from a tiny fishing port, and curving gently for some three kilometres to its southern point where Buddhist temples cling to the cliffs.

Culture in Hua Hin
Hua Hin offers a host of events throughout the year and there is always something to see or participate in. Hua Hin, in addition to the many annual festivals, also offers a wide range of cultural events such as the annual Jazz Festival which, for the past few years, has been held at Hua Hin beach. Here, internationally renowned jazz artists perform, and up to 150,000 people shows up on the beach as the audience.
Hua Hin is also host to events such as the annual Royal Regatta, with hundreds of sailboats taking part, along with many other water sports competitions here among kitesurfing. Hua Hin is preferred by large parts of Thailand as the seat of the events due to its location and popularity among visitors. It is never boring in Hua Hin.

Massage & Spa in Hua Hin
One of the things you got to indulge in while staying in Hua Hin is obviously the opportunity to be pampered with a massage or a trip to the spa After a long day of golf, touring the beach, walking through Hua Hin city, or other more or less exhausting activities, you have an obvious and quite wonderful opportunity to relax with a nice massage in one of Hua Hins many massage parlors.
In Europe, Thai massage has unfortunately gotten a bad reputation and many associate Thai massage with services of a suspicious nature performed in asmall dark basement room. Nothing, however, could be further from the truth in Thailand where Thai massage originates from.
In Hua Hin there are countless massage places and spas that offers 1 or 2 hour massage at prices far below what traditional massage costs in Europe. The price starts from around 300 baht (about Euro 8) for one hour massage, offering both foot massage, traditional Thai massage and oil massage.
Many also offers facials, mani / pedicure and more. The treatments are often rounded of with a hot herbal tea, whichis the perfect end of a wonderful massage. It is recommended to give the woman / man that gave you the massage a tip.
A few hours of Thai massage is known relieve stress and tensions and is something everyone should experienceduring a stay in Hua Hin. It is difficult to recommend a specific massage because it often depends on personal taste and the chemistry between you and the person giving you the massage. Thai massage is for both men and women..
